The Water Doctor Service Agreement

1. Acceptance of Terms

By subscribing to, installing, or using any RO water purifier provided by The Water Doctor (“we”, “us”, “our”), you (“Customer” / “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, along with any plan-specific details communicated to you at the time of subscription.

These Terms apply to all subscription plans, including but not limited to the Infinity Plan, 3-month, 6-month and 1-year rental plans, and any promotional or trial offers unless specifically excluded in writing.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not proceed with the subscription, installation or use of our services.

2. Eligibility & Service Area

2.1 You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Indian law to subscribe to our services.

2.2 Our services are currently available only in the areas notified by us (for example, parts of Bengaluru and nearby locations). Service availability depends on your exact address and feasibility for installation.

2.3 We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel an order if installation is not technically or commercially feasible at your premises.

3. Subscription Plans & Billing

Subscription-based RO rental

3.1 Our service is provided on a subscription basis. You pay a recurring fee (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually) depending on the plan chosen.

  • Infinity Plan: currently starting from ₹399/month.
  • Other plans: 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year plans as communicated at the time of subscription.
  • Plan prices and offers are subject to change and may vary by location or promotion.

3.2 Subscription fees are payable in advance. Your subscription is considered active only once payment is successfully received.

3.3 If your subscription is not renewed on or before the due date, we may temporarily suspend the water purifier and/or schedule an uninstall until dues are cleared.

3.4 Payment methods accepted and billing cycles will be communicated via WhatsApp, SMS, email, or during the onboarding process.

4. Installation & Security Deposit

4.1 Standard installation at a feasible location in your kitchen/utility area is included at no additional cost, subject to basic plumbing and electrical availability.

4.2 A one-time security deposit (for example, ₹2100 for the Infinity Plan) is payable at the time of installation. The applicable deposit will be communicated to you before installation.

4.3 The security deposit is refundable (for example, ₹1500 on uninstall for Infinity Plan) provided:

  • All subscription dues are paid in full.
  • The purifier and accessories are returned in reasonable working condition, subject to normal wear and tear.
  • No intentional damage, tampering, or missing parts are found at the time of uninstall.

4.4 Any non-standard plumbing, electrical work, drilling, or civil modifications required will be discussed with you in advance and, if agreed, may be chargeable separately.

5. Equipment Ownership & Usage

5.1 The RO purifier equipment provided to you is and shall remain the exclusive property of The Water Doctor. You are granted a limited, non-transferable right to use the purifier during your active subscription.

5.2 You shall:

  • Use the purifier only at the registered installation address.
  • Not sell, rent, pledge, or transfer the purifier to any third party.
  • Not open, modify, refit, or relocate the purifier yourself without our written consent.

5.3 Any unauthorized repair or relocation may result in damage charges and/or termination of service.

6. Maintenance & Service

6.1 All scheduled maintenance, filter changes, and breakdown visits are covered under your active subscription at no additional service cost, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

6.2 Service frequency (including filter replacement schedule) depends on water quality, usage patterns and manufacturer guidelines and shall be determined at our discretion.

6.3 You agree to:

  • Provide access to the premises for scheduled and breakdown services.
  • Promptly report any issues, leakage, abnormal taste, or performance concerns.

Note: In rare cases of extreme inlet water quality or highly inconsistent supply, additional checks or special cartridges may be required. Any such special arrangements and costs will be discussed and agreed with you beforehand.

7. Water Quality & Limitations

7.1 Our purifiers are designed to treat water within a certain input TDS and contamination range. We perform basic feasibility checks, but we do not control the municipal/borewell water source.

7.2 While we aim to provide output water TDS in the recommended range (for example, 70–90 ppm), actual values may vary based on input water conditions and usage.

7.3 We are not responsible for:

  • Sudden changes in input water quality, contamination, or supply pressure.
  • Health issues unrelated to water supplied through our purifier.
  • Use of water for industrial, medical or any specialized application beyond normal drinking and cooking use.

8. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Keep your contact details and address up to date with us.
  • Ensure that the electrical socket and water inlet used for the purifier are in safe working condition.
  • Prevent physical damage, misuse, or intentional tampering with the purifier.
  • Inform us before you vacate/shift the house so that uninstall/relocation can be planned.

Any damage arising from negligence, misuse, or third–party interference may be chargeable at prevailing repair/replacement rates.

9. Suspension / Termination of Service

9.1 We may temporarily suspend or permanently terminate your subscription, with or without notice, in the following cases:

  • Repeated non-payment or delayed payment of subscription fees.
  • Misuse of equipment, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
  • Safety concerns at the premises or denial of access for service/uninstall.

9.2 Upon termination, we reserve the right to schedule an uninstall and collect the purifier from your premises.

10. Refunds & Cancellation

10.1 You may request cancellation of your subscription by contacting us through WhatsApp, phone, or email.

10.2 Security deposit refunds (where applicable) will be processed after uninstall and verification of purifier condition, typically within a reasonable time frame to the original payment method or as otherwise agreed.

10.3 Any advance subscription amounts already utilized (for the period you have used the service) are generally non-refundable, unless required by law or specifically agreed in writing.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount of subscription fees paid by you for the immediately preceding three (3) months.

11.2 We shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.
  • Delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).

12. Privacy & Communication

12.1 By using our services, you consent to us contacting you via phone, SMS, WhatsApp, or email for installation, service reminders, payment alerts, and important service updates.

12.2 We respect your privacy and will not sell your personal information to third parties. Limited sharing may be required with our technicians, payment partners or logistics providers solely for the purpose of delivering the service.

13. Changes to Terms

13.1 We may update or modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, pricing, or legal requirements.

13.2 Updated Terms will be made available on our website or shared through a suitable communication channel. Continued use of the service after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Customer Information & Verification Requirements

To process installation requests efficiently and to ensure safe operations, the Customer agrees to provide accurate and complete details as requested by The Water Doctor before installation.

15.1 Basic Details (for installation request & scheduling):

  • Full Name
  • Mobile Number
  • Alternate Mobile Number
  • Email ID
  • Residential / Company Address
  • Area Pincode
  • Nearest Landmark
  • Company Name & Address (if applicable)
  • Google Maps Location (installation premises)

Note: A small advance of ₹500 may be collected towards booking confirmation and initial feasibility check for installation. This amount will be adjusted against the subscription or refundable if installation is not feasible.

15.2 Mandatory Documents (to be provided before installation):

  • Soft copy of Aadhaar Card (for KYC verification)
  • Soft copy of Rental Agreement and/or Electricity Bill (address verification)
  • Photo of kitchen/utility area with sink details for installation feasibility

15.3 All information is used solely for service activation, address verification, and support purposes. We will maintain confidentiality of your documents and identities in accordance with Indian data protection norms.

15.4 Any delay in providing the required information may lead to delay in processing installation.

15.5 Submission of falsified or misleading documents will result in immediate rejection or termination of the subscription request without refund.
